The Standard. Revit holds roughly 78% of the commercial market in the US. If you are doing large-scale commercial work and collaborating with structural and MEP engineers, Revit is essentially mandatory. Its parameter-driven logic is incredibly robust, but the learning curve is steep and it is highly restrictive.
Graphisoft ArchiCAD
The Designer's Choice. Popular in Europe and among Mac-based residential/boutique commercial firms in the US. It is generally considered more intuitive and design-friendly in the early phases. However, finding consultants who use it natively is difficult, often forcing reliance on IFC exports.
